De-Trascher

About the company

You will work at a large international company that specialises in the sharing and reuse of pallets, crates and containers. At the service centre in Tiel, thousands of wooden pallets are checked and repaired every day. You will be part of the Operations / Production department and work together with colleagues from different nationalities. You will report to the Production Team Leader. The location has a renovated canteen, break area and changing rooms.

What will you do?

As a De-Trasher, you are responsible for checking pallets before they enter the sorting process. Your main tasks are:

• Visually checking pallets at the start of the sorting line;
• Removing paper, stickers, plastic, cardboard and other waste from pallets;
• Removing pallets that do not belong on the line;
• Making sure foreign objects or unsuitable pallets do not damage the machines;
• Keeping the pallets moving safely on the conveyor;
• Identifying and reporting technical problems or irregularities;
• Carrying out simple first-line troubleshooting and basic maintenance;
• Recording production information when needed;
• Keeping your workplace clean, safe and organised.

The work is physically demanding. You will stand and walk for longer periods and regularly lift, bend, pull and push. The workplace has a normal temperature but can become warm during summer. Because wooden pallets are processed at the location, the working environment can be dusty.  

What do we expect from you?

For this position, it is important that you:

• Have sufficient English to understand work and safety instructions;
• Are safety-conscious and work accurately;
• Are responsible and enjoy working as part of a team;
• Are flexible and able to solve simple problems;
• Are comfortable with physically demanding work;
• Are comfortable working in a dusty environment.
• Experience with pallets is not required. You will receive training at the workplace.
• Personal protective equipment (PPE) is mandatory. Jewellery and make-up are not allowed during work.

• Salary of €15,98 per hour
• 8.33% Holiday allowance will be paid every week

Your working hours

Two-shift system:

• 06:00 – 14:00
• 14:00 – 22:00

Breaks:

• 2 × 10 minutes (paid)
• 30-minute lunch break (unpaid)
